Hello! My name is Kaitlyn Stiles and I am a bioarchaeologist, forensic anthropologist, and osteological consultant with a passion for understanding humans from the bones up.
I received my PhD in Anthropology from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville in 2019 with concentrations in biological anthropology and archaeology. My dissertation research concentrated on human skeletal remains from a Late Bronze Age (ca. 1500-1100 BCE) cemetery in central Greece.
As a bioarchaeologist, I have done research and analysis in Greece, Poland, Egypt, and the United States. I have consulted with the Greek Archaeological Service. In the U.S., I have consulted with the Channel Islands National Park and the Nevada State Museum to identify and assess human skeletal remains for NAGPRA compliance. I am also on the Register of Professional Archaeologists.
As a forensic anthropologist, I have worked for the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, contracted by SNA International. I became a Diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Anthropology (D-ABFA) in February 2022. I currently have active research projects in both bioarchaeology and forensic anthropology on skeletal remains from a modern 20th century cemetery in central Greece.
As an osteological consultant, I am available to perform a wide variety of osteological services (forensic and/or bioarchaeological) for museums, law enforcement, cultural resource management entities, and national and state parks. I’m based in Reno, Nevada, but I am willing to travel! Visit my “Services” page to learn more.
